What This Course Is

The DevOps Engineering course at Next Minds Infosys is a 3-month, project-based training program for developers, sysadmins and IT professionals who want to learn DevOps with real tools, real deployments and real infrastructure. This is not a theory course with slides about "the DevOps philosophy". You will containerize applications, build CI/CD pipelines, deploy to AWS, provision infrastructure with Terraform, and set up monitoring dashboards with Prometheus and Grafana.

We designed this course around what companies actually test for in interviews. When Leapfrog, CloudFactory or Fusemachines interview a DevOps candidate, they do not ask you to define CI/CD. They hand you a broken pipeline or a misconfigured Kubernetes cluster and ask you to fix it. Every module here is built to prepare you for that moment.

DevOps is one of the highest-paying technical roles in Nepal right now. Mid-level DevOps engineers in Kathmandu earn NPR 80,000 to 1,50,000 per month, and senior engineers working with international or remote companies earn significantly more. Common Mistakes We See in Every DevOps Cohort

We have trained 175+ students in this course. These three mistakes come up most often.

Jumping to Kubernetes before being solid on Docker. Kubernetes orchestrates containers. If you do not understand how containers work, what a Dockerfile does, or how Docker networking functions, Kubernetes will be incomprehensible. Every cohort has students who want to skip Module 2 and go straight to "the Kubernetes stuff". We do not allow it. Get Docker right first.

Memorising commands without understanding what they do. Running kubectl apply -f deployment.yaml is not the same as understanding what that YAML creates, why you chose a Deployment over a DaemonSet, or what happens when a pod crashes. Interview questions are not "type this command". They are "this pod is stuck in CrashLoopBackOff, what do you do?" Understanding beats memorisation every time.

Building a pipeline that works once and calling it done. A pipeline that deploys your app on a sunny day is not production-ready. What happens when a test fails? When the Docker build cache is stale? When the target environment is down? Real DevOps work is about handling failure gracefully, and the Module 4 capstone forces you to think through those edge cases.

Tools You Will Get Hands-On Practice With

Real Projects, Not Lab Simulations

Every project uses real infrastructure, real cloud accounts and real deployment targets. You will not run commands against a pre-configured demo environment and call it experience.

During the 3 months you will complete projects including:

  1. 1A fully containerized multi-service application using Docker and Docker Compose
  2. 2A Kubernetes deployment with services, ingress, ConfigMaps, persistent storage and rolling updates
  3. 3An end-to-end CI/CD pipeline in Jenkins or GitHub Actions that builds, tests and deploys a containerized app to Kubernetes
  4. 4AWS infrastructure provisioned entirely with Terraform: VPC, subnets, EC2 instances, security groups and S3 buckets
  5. 5A monitoring and alerting setup using Prometheus and Grafana tracking real application and infrastructure metrics
  6. 6A capstone combining all of it: containerize an application, write Terraform to provision the infrastructure, build a pipeline to deploy it, and set up monitoring with dashboards and alerts

These projects go into your portfolio. When a company like Leapfrog, Fusemachines or CloudFactory asks you to "describe a pipeline you have built", you will have screenshots, code and documentation to show.
